Mazda has begun churning out the new CX-9 crossover SUV at its Ujina Plant No. 1, located in Hiroshima. The initial units that roll out of the production line will be exported to the US and Canadian markets. The new Mazda CX-9 has been exclusively designed and developed to cater to the North American markets. According to Mazda’s sales forecast, the North American market will make up 80% of the CX-9’s global sales with 50,000 units being sold annually.

Buyers in North America can expect to get their hands on the CX-9 sometime in early spring, this year.

The CX-9 is one of Mazda’s flagship models and it comes with the automaker’s signature KODO – Soul of Motion design and SKYACTIV Technology. The SUV is completely manufactured in Japan under the strictest of quality standards.

The Mazda CX-9 has been recognized for its high level of comfort and top notch specifications that provide absolute functionality. The vehicle comes in 3 trim levels, namely the Sport, the Touring, and the Grand Touring. However, all 3 trims run on the same 2.5 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine. The engine produces 250 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque.

Buyers can choose between a front wheel drive option and a four-wheel drive option, both of which are controlled by a 6 speed automatic transmission.

High Design Not Just for Mazda Vehicles; Dealerships Receive a Facelift

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2015

CardinaleWay Mazda - Corona 2

In keeping with its strategy to move up-market, Mazda is infusing its U.S. dealerships with elements reflecting the principles of more upscale design. Known for its “soul of motion” or “Kodo”, the Japanese automaker aims to make showrooms more open and airy, with a “transparent view into dealership operations”, said Jim O’Sullivan, President and CEO of Mazda North American Operations. A large part of the Mazda brand is the concept of Retail Evolution, which offers “an upscale experience”, he continues. This is accomplished through the use of natural materials like real wood and metal, glass, and an infusion of light. In an effort to keep the focus on Mazda’s award-winning vehicle design, the showrooms will be simple and sophisticated, with classic black and white color schemes. Free Wi-Fi and charging stations are offered in the Mazda Lounge, which carries the elegant and chic theme throughout the showroom experience. First to reopen its doors under the Retail Evolution redesign is Mazda of Everett in Seattle, Washington. Dealers have three options, from minor facelifts, to down-to-the-studs renovations.

This past week at the Frankfurt auto show, Mazda showcased the all-new crossover, known as the KOERU Concept. This new model is equipped with the full suite of Mazda’s new-generation SKYACTIV Technologies and designed with the latest KODOD – Soul of Motion design language. Mazda explained that the name “Koeru” can be translated into “exceed” or “go beyond” in Japanese. The Japanese automaker hopes that this new vehicle targets customers with a cutting-edge mind set and those bold enough to challenge the existing crossover market. CardinaleWay Mazda Corona will continue to follow this story as it develops.
