Mazda Joins the Linux Foundation

CardinaleWay Mazda - Corona 2_LinuxFoundation

The Linux Foundation launched an initiative several years ago, called Automotive Grade Linux (AGL). The project is an open-source endeavor to develop common Linux-based software cores for connected cars. Mazda joins other automakers alongside AGL to address the needs to the connected car. They will pursue a new Unified Code Base, aimed at becoming an industry standard. AGL is the architectural foundation for several applications within a connected vehicle, including the instrument cluster, heads-up display, telemetry, navigation, communications, safety, security and more.
