2016-Mazda-MX-5-Miata-convertible_lg

Before you read the rest of the blog, you should know this: Mazda has outdone itself with the MX-5. The car was released in Japan as the Eunos Roadster and North America received it as the Mazda MX-5 Miata. The front-engine savvy roadster is a lightweight two-seater with a rear-wheel-drive layout. It was introduced in 1989 and it has ever since been one of the world’s most impressive convertibles.

Much before Toyota and Subaru released their convertible counterparts, the Mazda MX-5 has been a popular choice with people who were looking for some affordable fun. Sure, over the years, it has grown slightly larger and gotten slightly more expensive, but it has sold close to 1 million units. The Guinness Book of Records has recognized this beauty as “the most popular sports car of all time.”

The Mazda MX-5 celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2014. The second generation, the MX-5 (NB), was released in 1998 and the MX-5 (NC), the third generation model, was pushed out in 2005. The year 2015 saw the launch of the fourth generation, the MX-5 (ND).

The MX-5 has been Mazda’s pride and joy. With outstanding features like driving dynamics and brilliant agility, it is no wonder that this car has such a large fan following. The superior rear-wheel drive gives the driver a thrilling experience, especially with a roadster this small.

As they say, big things come in small packages. With its stylish looks and spunky performance, the Mazda MX-5 has been a great choice among roadsters. Drive down to the Cardinale Way Mazda dealership in Corona, US, so you can experience for yourself the pure aggression the MX-5 has to offer.

New Mazda3 Review

Wednesday, February 24th, 2016

2016-Mazda-3-sedan_6_lg

Japanese automaker Mazda has never made mistakes regarding cars, especially with its sedans. The Mazda3 is no exception. With its superior engine, great transmissions, and a surprisingly affordable price, the 2015 Mazda3 is a premium choice.

The 2015 Mazda3 emerged after being redeveloped the previous year. A swanky new look combined with a much better engine and plush new features, the Mazda3 became a rather popular choice among buyers looking to find an efficient yet fun car. The updated Mazda3 has retained the company’s primary purpose with this model and its predecessors – driving fun.

Although the body of the car exhibits smooth contours and has a very sexy outlook, the space on the inside has taken quite the hit. The interiors are small, which do not really pose much of a problem unless you are specifically looking for a large car. The design and styling is outstanding, especially with its “cab-back” design, which puts this beauty in the spotlight unlike the other cars in the compact range. The Mazda3 is available as a four-door hatchback or a sedan.

The car is equipped with the standard 155-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. You can opt for the 184-hp 2.5-liter engine. This car is synonymous with efficiency, so you can expect smooth sailing throughout. The Mazda3 is also known for its laser-precise steering and crisp shifting. It comes with a six-speed manual, but you can switch to the six-speed automatic if necessary.

The Mazda3 is a small car, but it is exceptional on all grounds. Made for pure driving pleasure and efficiency, this car is a must-have on your list if you are looking to buy a car. The 2015 Mazda3 is available at the Cardinale Way Mazda dealership in Corona, US.

How Did Mazda Get Its Name

Wednesday, February 24th, 2016

2016-Mazda-3-hatchback_2_lg

Mazda is one of the finest automobile manufacturers in the world. Based in Japan, this company was established in 1920 by Jujiro Matsuda, a businessman and industrialist.

All moto enthusiasts are excited by machines and all they can offer. They become biased to a particular brand. Mazda has earned itself a large number of customers and fans thanks to its impeccable machinery and sports cars. But have you ever wondered where the name originated from?

The automaker’s name “Mazda” is derived from Ahura Mazda, one of the gods of the foremost civilizations in Western Asia. Ahura Mazda is the god of intelligence, wisdom, and harmony. He has been recognized as the symbol of the birth of the Western and Eastern civilizations. He is also considered to represent the automobile culture. “Mazda” means ‘wisdom,’ while “Ahura” stands for ‘lord’ in Avestan, an Iranian language. He was also the name of the Zoroastrian God. The Japanese have been strongly influenced by Zoroastrianism, which is known to be a peaceful religion.

The company has stated that it was also named after its founder, Jujiro Matsuda. It is believed that the name originated from the Westernized pronunciation of his name. The company has kept his name for close to 100 years, honoring the man who was known for his strong spiritual beliefs.

Incorporating wisdom and intelligence, Mazda has produced some of the finest cars in history, including the Mazda 3, Mazda 6, and the Miata. If you want to take a look at the latest Mazda cars, head over to CardinaleWay Mazda dealership in Corona, California.

The 2017 Mazdaspeed 3’s Future Seems Uncertain

Wednesday, February 17th, 2016

Mazda 3 logo best October in 21 years

If you’re a big fan of Mazda’s rotary engine, you’ll be happy to know that the automotive manufacturer has finally released some information about the upcoming iterations. The new engine, termed as the ‘SKYACTIV-R’ was first seen under the hood of Mazda’s stunning RX-Vision concept, which was unveiled at the Tokyo Auto Show.

According to Mazda, the SKYACTIV-R will define the future of the Wankel engines. The manufacturer also stated that the new engine will be completely new and improved. Many of the issues that affected the RX series engines will not be seen here.

To add to the excitement, Mazda has also dropped hints about the development of a turbocharged rotary that will power the eagerly awaited RX-9. It is believed that the new rotary will need the turbochargers to give it some low-end torque boost. However, the idea still only remains as a possibility. Nevertheless, Mazda is a company that usually does not disappoint and CardinaleWay can’t wait to have the new RX-9 on the showroom floor.

But, despite the suggestion of a better future for the RX-9 and the brand’s re-entry into the performance area of things, there seems to be very little to look forward to as far as the Mazda Performance Series sedans are concerned.

The company cannot seem to make a case for the re-introduction of the Mazdaspeed 3. To make things worse, the Mazda3 sales numbers are pretty low, especially in the US. The sedan has managed to maintain a fair bit of sales momentum in the European and Australian markets. However, in the US, sales have dropped by 4.4 percent.

Mazda’s CX-9 Begins Rolling Off the Line

Wednesday, February 17th, 2016

2015-Mazda-CX-9_2

Mazda has begun churning out the new CX-9 crossover SUV at its Ujina Plant No. 1, located in Hiroshima. The initial units that roll out of the production line will be exported to the US and Canadian markets. The new Mazda CX-9 has been exclusively designed and developed to cater to the North American markets. According to Mazda’s sales forecast, the North American market will make up 80% of the CX-9’s global sales with 50,000 units being sold annually.

Buyers in North America can expect to get their hands on the CX-9 sometime in early spring, this year.

The CX-9 is one of Mazda’s flagship models and it comes with the automaker’s signature KODO – Soul of Motion design and SKYACTIV Technology. The SUV is completely manufactured in Japan under the strictest of quality standards.

The Mazda CX-9 has been recognized for its high level of comfort and top notch specifications that provide absolute functionality. The vehicle comes in 3 trim levels, namely the Sport, the Touring, and the Grand Touring. However, all 3 trims run on the same 2.5 liter turbocharged 4 cylinder engine. The engine produces 250 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque.

Buyers can choose between a front wheel drive option and a four-wheel drive option, both of which are controlled by a 6 speed automatic transmission.

Mazda Still Considering Diesel Sales in the US

Wednesday, February 17th, 2016

CX5_SKYACTIV_Engine_05

In a recent statement, the Japanese automaker has made it very clear that it has no plans on withdrawing the idea of bringing its diesel engines into the American market. Though there were hindrances to the idea earlier on, Mazda still seems determined.

Diesel vehicles and the technology as a whole have attracted a lot of negative attention in the recent past, especially after the Volkswagen scandal. But, Mazda remains unfazed and is very serious about introducing the diesel SKYACTIV engines to its US customers.

Why is Mazda so adamant about bringing in its diesel engines? Well, according to Senior VP of US Operations, Robert Davis, this is Mazda’s way of moving away from its typical Japanese image and re-establishing itself closer to the European Premium Car segment. In the US, the majority of the diesel sales come from European luxury brands. Mazda aims to cash in on this segment by providing a viable alternative.

The sale of diesel vehicles, even after the VW scandal, has hardly been affected and Mazda’s confidence comes from this fact. Entering the diesel vehicle market will help Mazda differentiate it from the rest of the Japanese automakers, who have completely kept off the idea of bringing diesel alternatives into the US.

Mazda has seen a tremendous demand for its SKYACTIV diesel engines back home in Japan and hopes to create the same effect in the US as well. For now, the only thing delaying the automaker is their temporary inability to strike a balance between performance and complying with US emission standards.

If you are interested about purchasing a diesel Mazda, please provide your contact details to CardinaleWay Mazda. We’ll keep you updated.

The All-Season Sports Car

Saturday, February 13th, 2016

The Mazda MX-5 Miata has been named the all-weather, all-season sports car for its undeniable handling in rough weather. Although the Miata has been seen as a top-down California cruiser, the roadster handles snow a lot better than most Californians. When armed with Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires, the Miata performs better than you can ever imagine. The fourth-generation Miata has firm grasp on how a car responds to the frozen stuff.

Mazda Looking for Efficient Alternatives

Saturday, February 13th, 2016

Mazda is pushing forward with technology and is hoping to find more efficient ways to do business. At the recent Barcelona Challengers Conference, Mazda and Thomas Rippel, an organic farmer, discussed their experiences about efficiency to students and media at Mazda Space in Barcelona. The two provided students with real-life examples of how to achieve innovation in their respective industries. Jeff Guyton, Mazda Motor Europe President and CEO, said: “We had the know-how, but what we needed to do was understand the ‘know why’ by taking the conventions that have been handed down to us and putting them under the microscope. Our current vehicle generation is the result: the product of a genuine culture of knowing why.”
