The Mazda CX-9 Is Beyond Ordinary
The automotive experts at Kelley Blue Book wrote: “The 2019 Mazda CX-9 goes beyond the ordinary 7-passenger, 3-row family hauler, offering a seductive exterior, luxurious interior and dynamic handling rarely found in an SUV of this size. More upscale than a Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander, the CX-9 looks like a high-end luxury vehicle, and its interior, especially the Signature trim...”
Buyers can get the 2019 Mazda CX-9 in one of four trim levels: Sport, Touring, Grand Touring and Signature. Front-wheel drive is standard on all trims except the Signature, which comes with all-wheel drive. Under the hood of the CX-9 sits a 2.5-liter inline-four engine that puts out 227 horsepower (250 hp with premium gasoline) and 310 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox.
As you would expect with a Mazda vehicle, the 2019 CX-9 gets excellent fuel economy. Front-wheel-drive models get an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city/28 mpg highway.* Those figures drop slightly to 20 mpg city/26 mpg highway with all-wheel drive.
The CX-9 has a roomy interior with seats that are supportive and comfortable, even on longer trips. Second-row passengers have lots of legroom to stretch out. There’s plenty of space to stow and transport cargo, with a total of 38.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats folded and 14.4 cubic feet behind the third row.
The base Sport trim comes loaded with features, including 18-inch alloy wheels, power windows, power door locks, a steering wheel and shift knob wrapped in leather, power mirrors, cloth seats, air conditioning with three zones, auto-off LED headlights, remote keyless entry, rear privacy glass and a rearview camera. Tech features that come standard include an infotainment system with a 7-inch touchscreen, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, Smart City Brake Support and dual USB ports.
