PERFORMANCE

Moreno Valley's HATCHBACKER’S GUIDE TO TURBO

Buyers looking for a smart hatchback that looks great, features best-in-class handling, and comes with the latest technology and driver assistance features should take a good look at the 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback. The Mazda3 is available as a sedan or a hatchback at dealers like the Mazda dealer serving Moreno Valley, but this article will focus on the hatchback model.

CARGO SPACE AND TECHNOLOGY

The 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback features sporty looks, a refined ride, and is fun to drive. There’s lots of storage space to pick up large loads of groceries or to transport items, with 20.1 cubic feet behind the rear seats. Fold the seats down, and you’ll have 47.1 cubic feet of cargo space to work with.

According to the Mazda dealer near Moreno Valley, CardinaleWay Mazda, Mazda3 Hatchback owners love the long list of technology and driver-assistance features that come standard. Inside, there’s a well-appointed cabin that will give some luxury models a run for the money. The Mazda3 Hatchback’s beautiful styling is sure to turn more than a few heads.

MAZDA Turbo

The 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback comes in 2.5 S and 2.5 Turbo trim levels. Each trim can be customized with option packages known as Select, Preferred, Premium and Premium Plus. The 2.5 S trim gets standard front-wheel and optional all-wheel drive, while the 2.5 Turbo gets all-wheel drive standard. All Mazda3 Hatchback models get a standard six-speed automatic transmission. Those who want to row their own gears can choose the Premium package, which has an optional six-speed manual gearbox for the 2.5 S trim.

The Mazda3 Hatchback 2.5 S is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that puts out 186 horses and 186 lb-ft of torque. Under the hood of the 2.5 Turbo model is a turbocharged 2.5-liter-engine that generates 250 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque with premium gas and 227 hp and 310 lb-ft with regular.

GREAT FUEL ECONOMY AND PRESS PRAISE

Fuel economy is outstanding. The 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback gets EPA-estimated fuel economy up to 26 mpg city/35 mpg highway with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the automatic transmission.*

The Mazda3 Hatchback gets excellent reviews from the automotive media. CNET Road/Show wrote: “No matter how you slice it, the Mazda3 looks great. I prefer the swoopy lines and bulbous butt of the hatchback to the sedan’s more staid shape, but even in base form, this car looks 100% better than a Honda Civic, Nissan Sentra or Toyota Corolla.”

Mazda3 I-ACTIVSENSE®

Standard features for the base 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback 2.5 S include 16-in alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, 60/40 split-folding rear seats, LED headlights, an 8.8-inch infotainment display, an eight-speaker stereo setup, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, remote vehicle monitoring and control, and more. Safety features that come standard include automatic high beams, a drowsy driver alert, lane keeping assist, adaptive cruise control and frontal collision mitigation.

Buyers will be glad to know the 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback is very safe. The 2021 Mazda3 Hatchback received the highest award of Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS, with the top marks of Good in all crash tests. The NHTSA gave the 2021 Mazda3 its best rating of five stars for overall safety.

* All vehicle mileage based on 2021 EPA mileage estimates. Use for comparison purposes only. Do not compare to models before 2008. Your actual mileage will vary, depending on how you drive and maintain your vehicle.

DESIGN

THE EXCLAMATION MARKS OF TURBO

As a hatchback enthusiast, we know you’re not afraid to stand out. The Mazda3 2.5 Turbo Hatchback comes with a little more than a typical Mazda3, such as black alloy wheels, black side mirrors and a larger tail pipe. And with the optional Premium Plus Package, a front air dam and a black rear spoiler.
