Twin Turbochargers And Electric Supercharger: Mazda’s Latest Patent

Monday, September 18th, 2017

As the saying goes in Alice In Wonderland, “Curiouser and curiouser,” which aptly describes our reaction to news of Mazda’s latest patent filing.  The patent is for a triple-charged engine.  Is this another engine breakthrough for Mazda?  What future plans does Mazda have in store utilizing a twin engine configuration with an electric supercharger?  CardinaleWay Mazda Corona, your favorite Corona dealership, is just as intrigued as everyone else. we can hardly wait to see what Mazda has up its sleeve!

How A Triple-Charged Engine Works

Mazda’s design for a triple-charged engine is comprised of twin turbocharged engines with an electric supercharger.  In theory, this triple combination engine system works when the electric supercharger kickstarts the engine.  In response, this revs up the dual turbochargers for a significant burst of horsepower.  Typically, you would envision a triple-charged engine in a rear-wheel drive vehicle.

The Million Dollar Question

A patent for the triple-charged engine does not necessarily mean that Mazda has a concept car on the drawing board to accommodate the new engine design. However, it begs the million dollar question circulating in the auto industry… does Mazda plan to utilize this triple-charged engine in the near future?  It’s quite possible that this type of triple-charged engine would be well-suited for an RX-8 successor.

Mazda Is A Leader In Cutting-Edge Automotive Technology

We’re proud to stand behind the Mazda brand, a leader in cutting-edge automotive technology.  Stay tuned for more developments on the status of Mazda’s patent for a triple-charged engine. The Impact of The New Toyota-Mazda Plant in the U.S.

Thursday, August 24th, 2017

On the heels of the surprise announcement that Toyota and Mazda plan to jointly build a $1.6 billion manufacturing plant in the United States, we’re delving deeper into the long-range implications.  Besides providing a shot in the arm to the U.S. economy and jobs growth, what’s in it for the two Japanese automakers?  Specifically, Mazda who is about 1/7th the size of giant auto manufacturer Toyota.  CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your #1 Corona Dealership, is optimistic that this marriage between strange bedfellows has the potential to produce great things for Mazda.

What Mazda Stands To Gain

While the strategic hunt for the location of the new Toyota-Mazda plant heats up, with at least a dozen states vying for bragging rights, let’s examine what could result from the alliance between the Japanese auto manufacturers.  First, there’s substantial job growth, with at least 4,000 jobs promised by the creation of the new plant.  Then, there’s the real possibility of shared technology between Toyota and Mazda.  This is an area where Mazda can definitely benefit with regards to electric vehicle (EV) development, as Toyota is ahead of the game.  Mazda, on the other hand, lags behind on EV development, due to their insistence that combustion engines hold promise for the future.  It makes sense that they will team up and design EVs of the future.

Both automakers bought a token of shares from each other to solidify their “marriage of convenience.”  On paper, it looks like the start of a beautiful collaboration.  While Toyota is expected to initially manufacturer Corollas, their smaller sedan, Mazda has indicated they’ll manufacturer a yet-unnamed crossover SUV at the new plant.  It remains to be seen if EVs may also be manufactured at the Toyota-Mazda facility in the long run, but anything’s possible.

CardinaleWay Mazda Has A Wide-Ranging Selection Of Vehicles

If you’re in the market for a new vehicle, stop by CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona and check us out.  We’ve got the best selection of the latest Mazda models and Certified Preowned vehicles.  If a Mazda sports car tickles your fancy, perhaps you’d like to test drive the all-new 2017 Mazda Miata MX-5 RF hardtop convertible or the 2017 Mazda3.  Our top family choices include the 2017 Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV, 2017 Mazda6 sedan or the three-row 2017 Mazda CX-9.  We’ve got a vehicle to fit every lifestyle at prices you can afford!

New $1.6 Billion Auto Manufacturing Plant Coming To The U.S.

Thursday, August 17th, 2017

In a surprising move that created a great deal of excitement in the business sector, Toyota and Mazda have announced that they’ve joined forces to build a new $1.6 billion auto manufacturing plant in the United States.  Now begins the war between the states vying for the prime location of the new plant.  CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your favorite Corona dealership, extends a hearty congratulations to Mazda and Toyota on their newly formed alliance.

New Toyota-Mazda Plant Will Mean More Jobs

Although we don’t yet know the exact location of the new auto manufacturing plant, it’s been revealed that it’s expected to create up to 4,000 new jobs.  This will definitely impact the U.S. economy in a positive way.  Mazda has never manufactured its cars in the U.S. before.  The new plant will produce up to 300,000 vehicles per year.  We’re told that it will primarily manufacture the Toyota Corolla sedan and a Mazda SUV crossover model for the North American market, yet to be determined.  The new plant should be completed by 2021, and Toyota and Mazda will split the cost of building the facility.

Toyota And Mazda To Share More Than Just A Manufacturing Plant

The two Japanese automakers, Toyota and Mazda, are coming together for more than just the joint operation of a new plant in the United States.  It appears that they will also collaborate on technology, such as for electric vehicles (EVs).  In addition, Toyota has purchased 5.05% of Mazda and in turn, Mazda purchased .25% of Toyota.  We certainly wish them well, and it’s encouraging to see competitive businesses work together.

We’re Proud To Be Associated With The Mazda Brand

Mazda is known for their talented engineering “think tank.”  Their vehicles are among the most innovative and reliable on the market.  They’re also affordably priced and fuel efficient.  Did you know that Mazda’s entire 2017 lineup has been awarded the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating?  This is an incredible accomplishment that no other auto manufacturer can match!  CardinaleWay Mazda Corona is proud to be associated with the Mazda brand.  Visit us and see our latest Mazda sports car models.  We’ve got something for everyone!

The Unwavering Appeal Of The Mazda CX-5

The popularity of the Mazda CX-5 is its multi-generational appeal.  It’s the perfect family car, women love to drive it and it’s great for retirees who occasionally haul grandchildren.  Another factor is that it may look like other luxury SUVs, but it’s actually one of the more affordable, fuel efficient SUV crossovers on the market. CardinaleWay Mazda Corona Suggests “Boredom Busters” For Road Trips With Children

Wednesday, July 26th, 2017

Traveling with children during Summer road trips can often be challenging.  How many times do you anticipate you’ll hear the refrain, “Are we there yet?”  Or the non-stop complaints of children confined in close quarters, such as, “He’s breathing on me and he has stinky breath!”  CardinaleWay Mazda Corona, your favorite Corona dealership, has a solution to how you can make your road trip more enjoyable for the entire family.

Games You Can Play With Your Children On Road Trips

Make the hours fly by when you engage your children in fun games.  The possibilities are endless, but we’ve listed a few that will surely resonate with your youngsters:

  1. Probably the most popular road game is, “I Spy.” Since you are constantly moving while traveling, restrict the item spied to what can be found in your vehicle.  Everyone takes a turn and recites, “I spy with my little eye, and the color is ______.”  Take turns guessing what the item might be.
  2. The “License Plate Game” is geared toward the older set, eight years and up, who can read and write. The object is to spot license plates from as many different U.S. states as possible.  This will require paper and pencil or pen.  You’ll be amazed how long you can keep this game going!
  3. This one may take some advanced planning, but “Road Sign Bingo” is a great game to keep the kids occupied. You’ll need to make sturdy stock board Bingo cards with signs for common restaurants such as (McDonalds, Cracker Barrel) and gas stations (Shell, BP), and tourist destinations that you know will be on your route.  Have them watch for billboard signs and provide them with stickers to put on their Bingo boards when they find a matching sign board.  First one to get five in a row to spell “BINGO,” wins.
  4. Read a familiar fairy tale to your children, then ask them to retell it by changing the names of the characters and the circumstances. Get everyone involved, even Dad. You can start the re-telling by giving an opening sentence and then appoint the next person to add their narrative.  It’s fun to write it all down so that when you’re done, you have something to add to your vacation scrapbook.
  5. For younger children, play “ABC Scavenger Hunt” and ask them to identify objects they see along the route that start with the corresponding letter of the alphabet. For instance, “C” is for cow or “T” is for truck.  They may need some hints, but it’s a great way for them to learn their alphabet.

Mazda Promotes Ad Campaign To Push For Brand Recognition Among Hispanic Consumers

Thursday, July 20th, 2017

A recent press release from Inside Mazda indicates that Mazda is releasing a full-scale ad campaign in July 2017 targeting Hispanic consumers.  Research by Mazda’s marketing department found that there are roughly over twelve million Hispanics living in the United States.  Problem is, Mazda discovered that the Mazda brand is not widely identified among the Hispanic population. CardinaleWay Mazda Corona is excited about the ad campaign, and is ready to welcome more Hispanic consumers to its Corona dealership.

Television Ads To Begin Appearing On Telemundo And Univision

In order to get the widest exposure possible, Mazda is airing its digital ads on Spanish-speaking television stations Telemundo and Univision.  The hope is that the ads will help to bring more awareness of the compatibility of the Mazda brand with the Hispanic culture.  Specifically, the ads will illustrate the shared core values of Passion, Harmony and Perseverance.  According to Russell Wager, who is the vice president of Marketing for Mazda North American Operations, research revealed that, “…the Hispanic Mazda customer is a true car enthusiast; someone who appreciates styling and performance., but is also hyper-digital and social.”  The ultimate goal is to bring in more Hispanic consumers as the word gets out that Mazda’s core values are similar to Hispanic consumers.
