Cool Features of the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF

Wednesday, May 18th, 2016

Following are some of the prominent features of the 2017 Mazda MX-5 Miata RF.

Miata RF’s display

Right next to its instrument cluster, Miata RF features a new and unique 4.6-inch color display. The TFT display will show its users information about the vehicle in graphics. For example, when the roof is opening or closing, it will be shown in graphics in the display. The display would also show the fuel level, temperature, and trip computer. The soft-top offers this information only in black and white, and no graphics. Also, the hardtop will feature exclusive Nappa leather. The Soft-top will only be offering regular leather on its Grand Touring model.

Driving position of Miata RF

Miata RF’s cabin is more accommodating for its driver and passenger. There is ample room for tall drivers. The car does not feature a seat height adjuster. Mazda was able to save some weight by removing this feature from Miata RF. This would certainly reflect in its performance. Since it is not a tight fit, the ride would be fun for the driver and the passenger even when the hard-top is closed. The driver would be able to move around comfortably while fiddling with the controls as well.

A retractable hard-top that is very fast

The retractable hard-top has been another challenge for Miata RF’s designers and engineers, according to Mazda. They set out to design and build the fastest retractable hard-top in the industry, and their perseverance and hard work paid off. Miata RF has the fastest retractable hard-top in the automobile industry. All it takes is just 12.5 seconds for the RF’s hard-top to go from fully closed to fully opened. It can do this at speeds up to 6 miles per hour. Mazda engineers tweaked the motor found in the 3rd generation Mazda model’s hard-top to achieve this result.

Mazda MX-5 Hill Hold Assist Feature

Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016

2016-Mazda-MX-5-Miata_1_lg

Mazda has always attached a lot of importance on ensuring safety and its cars over the years bear testimony to that. However, Mazda MX-5 has taken the concept of vehicular safety to a whole new level altogether. With a lot of other features, the Hill Hold Assist technology is set to redraw the entire concept of safety. It is one feature that prevents the possibility of the car accidentally rolling down a hill when the driver is pulling it away.

When the driver takes the car off along a slope, the technology functions such that the car doesn’t roll in the backward direction just in case the driver loses the controls to the brake. The brake is maintained automatically. Along slopes that are not dangerous, the brake gets released immediately while the accelerator is pushed in order to give it a smooth start. On slopes that are steeper and more difficult, the brakes get released only after the requisite amount of torque is produced.

The safety system has the ability to act independently when stopped along a slope. It lets the driver drive the vehicle in a safe mode without much effort. However, it is equally pertinent to remember that no technology can replace human endeavor. So, the technology is not a replacement for driving finesse and expertise that lets the car go along safely.

If you want to buy a Mazda MX-5, do make it a point to visit the CardinaleWay Mazda Corona store today.

Mazda MX-5 Miata Launches in New World Market

Mazda 3 MX-5 Miata launches in new world market

The fourth generation MX-5 Miata sits on an all-new chassis – one that is lighter and allows the roadster to have 50/50 weight distribution. The fourth-generation MX-5 Miata was built on five rules which Mazda vowed not to break: 50/50 weight distribution; rear-wheel drive and front-engined; quick to change direction; low kerb weight; and be affordable. Staying true to these rules, the Miata was able to launch in yet another market this month; the UK has announced its pricing of the 1.5-liter and the 2.0-liter models. The vehicle is available in five trim levels for each engine, with the 2.0-liter Sport Recaro sitting at the top of the list.
