mazda3 2

According to U.S. News & World Report, the 2017 Mazda3 has been named #1 compact vehicle.  That’s an especially impressive feat when you consider that there were 24 entrants in the compact class.  Available as a 4-door sedan or a 5-door hatchback, the Mazda3 is available in four trim levels, including Sport, Touring, Touring 2.6 and Grand Touring.

The power behind the Mazda3 is a standard 2.0 liter, four-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower.  However, upper trim levels offer a 2.5 liter, four-cylinder engine with 184 horsepower, for faster acceleration.  Standard transmission is a 6-speed manual, with 6-speed automatic available as an option.  Fuel economy for the 2017 Mazda3 automatic transmission is 28 mpg city and 37 mpg highway.

If you’re a fan of hatchbacks, you’ll appreciate the cargo space configuration for the 2017 Mazda3.  Both the hatchback and sedan models are equipped with 60/40 split-folding rear seats  For example, the hatchback offers 20.2 cubic feet of storage capacity behind its rear seats.  Fold the rear seats down, and you’ll gain more than double the cargo space at 47.1 cubic feet.

New for the 2017 Mazda3 model is G-Vectoring Control, an innovative mechanism that elicits precise steering response.  As an add-on, you can request Mazda’s highly respected safety package, i-Activsense.  New this year are two new features to i-Activsense.  One is a new camera that detects pedestrians and the other is a feature that reads road signs.

Our Mazda3 vs. Honda’s Fit: What You Need To Know

Friday, September 9th, 2016

mazda3 2

What we love most about Mazda’s compact car option is that it’s a perfect example of how beauty and practicality can happily coexist. This year, the new Mazda3 and Honda Fit hit the market right around the same time, getting the attention of compact car lovers everywhere. We’ve had a chance to review them thoroughly. Let’s get right into what makes these two different.

The Mazda3 hatchback arrived with a newer grille, reformed back bumper and glimmering LED headlights. Honda’s new Fit looks pretty much the same as it did last year.

Inside the Mazda3, you will see added storage space to minimize clutter, interior padding to improve sound insulation and a slew of safety features like blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. Again, the Fit doesn’t measure up to the 3 in features.

The Fit has a 1.5L four-cylinder engine with 130 horsepower. The Mazda3 has a 2.0L four-cylinder with 155 horsepower, and you even get the option of purchasing a power powerful option of 184 horsepower. If you’re thinking that this is going to cost you more fuel–think again! Despite all this power the 3 still has better fuel economy than the Fit.

Let’s not forget about Mazda’s exclusive new feature–G-Vectoring Control. This luxurious new technology activates to make your drive a smoother and safer one at every speed, turn and brake. Unfortunately, the Fit does not have this advantage.

As you can see by now, the Mazda3 beats the Fit in safety, looks, power and fuel economy. Don’t miss out on the luxury and technology that Mazda has to offer. Purchasing a compact car doesn’t have to mean a sacrifice in comfort or reliability.

Come visit CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona and see for yourself how gratifying a compact car can really be.

The Mazda CX-3 Challenges Everything we know about Crossovers

Friday, February 5th, 2016

The Mazda CX-3 not only shares a platform with the all-new Mazda2, it also sets a new standard in offering a dynamic package which combines Mazda’s KODO design, a range of SKYACTIV technologies and equipment that is tailored to a young, contemporary audience. Yoichi Matsuda, Chief Designer of the all-new Mazda CX-3, said: “Our challenge when designing this car was to create a crossover vehicle that would be versatile enough for daily use, without giving the impression of being a conventional SUV or a hatchback.” If you have not yet had the pleasure of test driving the all-new Mazda CX-3, call CardinaleWay Mazda Corona to schedule a test drive.
