Mazda Introduces Its Latest Technological Advance: Aqua-Tech Paint System

Tuesday, July 18th, 2017

CardinaleWay Mazda Corona, your favorite Corona Dealership, has the scoop on Mazda’s latest technological breakthrough.  It’s an innovative approach to painting its vehicles that positively impacts our environment.  We love to hear about ways that companies find to protect our environment.

Mazda’s New Three-Layer Painting System

Mazda recently announced that it has created a three-layer painting system called Aqua-Tech.  Apparently, this is an entirely new and unique system because it accurately paints vehicles with an entirely robotic painting system.  As you can imagine, this was a major research and development project, requiring countless man hours.  Developing a painting system that was an improvement on its predecessor required a system that worked flawlessly with the goal of reducing waste.  Inside Mazda reports that there were two major objectives achieved with the Aqua-Tech paint system: even application of a uniform thickness of paint and improving the overall efficiency in the actual painting process.  A benefit of the new Aqua-Tech painting system was that the painting process enhanced the paint job, making it appear glossier, while also significantly reducing waste.  That was accomplished since the Aqua-Tech paint system is water-based.  Therefore, it was able to reduce the emission of volatile organic compounds by a whopping 78 percent compared to other competing methods!  Committed to preserving our environment, Mazda has once again proved that it has an environmentally friendly agenda.

Mazda CX-5 interior

Are you a huge fan of the CX-5? We are! What’s not to love, right? It’s quite literally the perfect SUV. This model is always flying off our lot and year after year, remains insanely popular when put up against its competitors. People love it because it looks great, is fun to drive and feels downright luxurious inside. It’s a win-win for everyone who rides in the CX-5. So, you can imagine the excitement when Mazda released that intriguing teaser photo a while back. All we could see was a sleek silhouette, but it’s been finally unveiled! We love what we see. Let us fill you in on the new #MazdaCX-5.

The front end has been redesigned. It’s no longer round but looks a lot more angled like the CX-9. The grille has a mesh-like appearance and the head and taillights are sleeker. This redesign is faithful to the Kodo theme that Mazda is all about. The two engines available are the 2.5-liter and the 2.2-liter diesel engine. We’re very excited to see the diesel introduced. The more options, the better! The interior of the new CX-5 will have an infotainment screen atop the dashboard with a simple knob control near the gear shift. This setup is extremely simple and very similar to what is seen in luxury car brands.

The All New 2017 CX-5 Is About To Be Unveiled

Monday, November 7th, 2016

Mazda 2

Are you in love with SUVs? We are. They are crazy popular here at Mazda. The #MazdaCX-5 is our midsize SUV model. So, if you’re looking for a good sized SUV that isn’t too small but not too large for your needs, check this one out. It might be just what you’re looking for. You could visit us at CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona for a look at our 2016 model today. If you prefer to hold out until the 2017 arrives, then you won’t have to wait long. The Los Angeles Auto Show is happening this November. Mazda is going to be debuting the brand new CX-5 then. We are very excited to feast our eyes on this one! The 2016 CX-5 is a beautifully styled and gorgeous SUV, we can’t wait to see how Mazda has updated it.

Mazda has released a teaser photo of what it looks like, but the image is incredibly vague and mysterious. The new CX-5 is cloaked in dark shadows and we only get a sliver of what the body actually looks like. From what we can tell though, the body has been slightly reshaped to look more contemporary and sleek. The lovely curve that runs along its body runs forward to meet the front end that stops short and abruptly, giving it that aggressive stance that Mazda tends to give all of its models. It’s attractive and powerful. This stance really speaks to the pristine performance that Mazda brings to its line of sporty cars.

The teaser photo presents a CX-5 painted in a drop dead shade of red. We love it!

Some side news: The brand new MX-5 RF (Mazda’s debut hardtop convertible) will also be making an appearance at the LA Auto Show, as will Mazda’s new prototype race car. Keep an eye out! It’s a very exciting time for Mazda.

Compact SUV Comparison: The Mazda CX-5 & The Honda CR-V

Monday, October 24th, 2016

Mazda 4 Koeru could be next CX-5

Compact SUVs are in very strong demand right now. They are probably the most popular go-to vehicles and we thought you’d like to see what two of these looked like side by side. Which do you think will come out to be the strongest competitor? Read on to find out.

Let’s talk safety. Although the CR-V scored well in testing, the CX-5 scored very well across the board. Not only did it received the highest possible ratings in the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), but did extremely well in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Mazda is famous for their performance. Their models are responsive, agile and light behind the wheel. If you’re looking for the ultimate spice, opt for a 2.5-liter engine with 184 horsepower. That will keep things interesting!

If you need towing capabilities in your compact SUV then put your money on the CX-5. It can tow 500 pounds more than the CR-V and has more torque, as well.

In fuel efficiency, the CX-5 beats out the CR-V with a 2.0-liter manual transmission engine at 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.

As far as price goes, Mazda has always prided itself in bringing affordable quality vehicles to the public. Honda has always remained more expensive than Mazda. The #MazdaCX-5 starts at $21,795 and the CR-V at $23,845. Even at their most expensive, these models remain the same in relation to each other. The most expensive CX-5 is $29,870 and the priciest CR-V is $33,495.

Come get a closer look at the Mazda CX-5. It’s a gorgeous, reliable, quality car that would satisfy the needs of nearly any SUV aficionado today. For a good look at our new and certified pre-owned cars, visit us at CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona or online at www.CardinaleWayMazdaCorona.com.

The Mazda CX-5: The Best Compact SUV On The Market

Monday, October 10th, 2016

Mazda CX-5 2

The CX-5 is an amazing SUV. It’s insanely popular at Mazda and we know why. This compact SUV has a lot offer without taking away from crucial areas that are so important for any vehicle. It wins in power, drivability, safety features, driver assisting, braking–we could go on and on. It’s a whole deal. A great deal!

The adaptive cruise control feature on the #MazdaCX-5 has automated braking. What’s more is that the Grand Touring trim provides additional braking support called Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) and Smart Brake Support (SBS).

The SCBS consists of a near-infrared laser mounted on the windshield that tracks the car in front while you’re driving at low speeds. If your car approaches the car in front and suddenly that the distance is dangerous, the CX-5 will brake suddenly and help you avoid collision. Even better news? This feature also works when you’re in reverse! There are two sensors located in the back that can detect objects at 1-2.5 mph and will brake the car if it gets too close for comfort.

The SBS is different in that it gives a warning before braking the car. This will happen at higher speeds and the SBS is always on. No need to switch it on like you would adaptive cruise control. The warning is a red indicator that flashes “BRAKE” on the dash.
These features are just a few of many that are available in many Mazda models. The CX-5 is great car if you’re looking for a compact SUV that offers style, drivability, safety and comfort. For a test drive, come visit us at Cardinaleway Mazda in Corona. Our amazing sales staff is always happy to answer all your questions! We’d love to see you, please stop by! The Mazda CX-9 Provides Benefits For The Entire Mazda Lineup

Friday, August 19th, 2016

CX9

The CX-9’s turbocharged Skyactiv engine has been a favorite among Mazda’s engineers. Since the idea’s inception and introduction in production, the team has dabbled with the idea of putting it in other vehicles. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that when it came to swapping engines, the CX-9’s was the obvious choice.

The CX-5 can surely take a few pointers from the CX-9. But there’s more help pouring in. Mazda 6’s new diesel 2.2L SkyActiv-D engine is also being eyed by the crossover.

When it comes to spilling the beans on its marvelous turbo engine or its introduction in future lineups, Mazda is tight-lipped. But it is actively looking to push its hybrids into the American market. Strict regulations concerning safety and design have eluded the coveted market for over 2 years.

It is more likely that if the turbo engine would find its way into another model, it would be the Mazda 6. Don’t discount the chance that the CX-5 will share the same, going by market observations.

There is a possibility of Mazda bringing the turbo-four engine crossover into the market by next year, which is quite a short wait. If you are looking for the SkyActiv-D engine then it could get longer because there isn’t any talk from the makers to introduce it sooner than 2018.

Until you hear an official announcement from the carmaker, the future of this powertrain can only be speculated. Catch up on Mazda’s latest news stories, technologies, and lineups by paying a visit to CardinaleWay Mazda Corona.

What The Mazda CX-9 Brings To The Table

Wednesday, August 17th, 2016

CX9

In all the years of Mazda’s history, there hasn’t been a time when one of its models wasn’t hot property. The Japanese carmaker has always been in the news for its path-breaking technology or superior design. Over the years, it has added versatility to its portfolio by introducing crossover compacts and hybrid models.

When Mazda introduced the CX-9, automakers and car fanatics the world over took notice. What fascinated them was the CX-9’s 2.5L turbo-four engine. Its 250 horsepower and 310 lb-ft torque is enough to pull buyers in the thousands. The engine can also be used in other Mazda models such as the 3, 6, and CX-5 because they are all products of the same make.

It is highly unlikely that the engine will find itself under the hood of a Mazda 3 or 6 in the near future, primarily because the MazdaSpeed program has been put on hiatus. Therefore, what’s left is the CX-5. There isn’t much tweaking required from the engine of the CX-9, just a little fine-tuning of the output. It will enable the crossover to handle beautifully and ensure a far smoother ride.

Mazda’s average efficiency can also experience a lift which will allow the automaker to include it in its brand new technology offering – the SkyActiv 2. With this new generation of SkyActiv engines, Mazda hopes to take a step forward in delivering powerful machines. It is only a matter of time when such a car will actually see the light of day.

Performance and Materials Used in KODO Cars

Wednesday, March 23rd, 2016

Mazda 3

KODO cars include the new Mazda3, CX-5, Mazda6, and CX-9. All the KODO (Soul of Motion) cars are constructed with quality materials and meticulous craftsmanship. The interior features leather-trimmed upholstery and scalloped seats, which provides for a rich look, and immense comfort. The perforated holes in the upholstery are spaced so precisely that it not only enriches the aesthetics of the cabin but also enhances the acoustics.

Mazda has used bioplastics for the construction of its KODO cars. The company has actually developed the world’s first bioplastics in collaboration with the Industry-Academia-Government. The bioplastics can be employed successfully in the production of vehicles. The advantage of using bioplastics is that it helps to lessen the utilization of fossil fuels. This process is carbon-neutral; so, the KODO cars are environmentally-friendly as well. Mazda also engineered the color Soul Red; when the company looked for a color to compliment the KODO design, they were not able to find it. Thus Soul Red was born through an advanced 3 step painting process. The 3-Layer Wet Paint System is something that Mazda developed themselves and it is the first technology in the whole world to lessen VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and carbon dioxide emissions simultaneously.

The alloy wheels on the KODO cars not only look stunning but provide for improved handling and produce minimal vibration while also having good resistance to the external elements as well. The SKYACTIV technology helps to reduce fuel consumption and provides for greater performance. The iActiveSense technology provides for the safety of the KODO cars.

You can visit CardinaleWay Mazda Corona to check out the KODO cars.
