The Impact of The New Toyota-Mazda Plant in the U.S.

Thursday, August 24th, 2017

On the heels of the surprise announcement that Toyota and Mazda plan to jointly build a $1.6 billion manufacturing plant in the United States, we’re delving deeper into the long-range implications.  Besides providing a shot in the arm to the U.S. economy and jobs growth, what’s in it for the two Japanese automakers?  Specifically, Mazda who is about 1/7th the size of giant auto manufacturer Toyota.  CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your #1 Corona Dealership, is optimistic that this marriage between strange bedfellows has the potential to produce great things for Mazda.

What Mazda Stands To Gain

While the strategic hunt for the location of the new Toyota-Mazda plant heats up, with at least a dozen states vying for bragging rights, let’s examine what could result from the alliance between the Japanese auto manufacturers.  First, there’s substantial job growth, with at least 4,000 jobs promised by the creation of the new plant.  Then, there’s the real possibility of shared technology between Toyota and Mazda.  This is an area where Mazda can definitely benefit with regards to electric vehicle (EV) development, as Toyota is ahead of the game.  Mazda, on the other hand, lags behind on EV development, due to their insistence that combustion engines hold promise for the future.  It makes sense that they will team up and design EVs of the future.

Both automakers bought a token of shares from each other to solidify their “marriage of convenience.”  On paper, it looks like the start of a beautiful collaboration.  While Toyota is expected to initially manufacturer Corollas, their smaller sedan, Mazda has indicated they’ll manufacturer a yet-unnamed crossover SUV at the new plant.  It remains to be seen if EVs may also be manufactured at the Toyota-Mazda facility in the long run, but anything’s possible.

Load Up The Bicycles And Spend The Day Cycling

Bicycling is an activity that the entire family can enjoy.  Pick a new location or bike trail.  Pedal to your heart’s content!  As you ride, be sure to glance at the gorgeous scenery along the way.  Stop for an ice cream cone afterwards.

Take A Walk On The Wild Side And Visit The Orange County Zoo

If you didn’t make it to the zoo this summer, there’s no better time than now.  You’re likely to see plenty of zoo babies on display.  Most zoos also feature interactive displays where you can pet some of the animals.  Do you have a favorite zoo animal?  Take plenty of pictures to preserve the memories.

Picnic In The Park

Pack a picnic basket full of sandwiches and other goodies and head for your favorite park.  Plan to spend the day hiking, throwing frisbees with Fido or the kids, and relaxing.  After working up an appetite, spread out a quilt or blanket and chow down on a picnic lunch.

Mazda Announces Its Latest SKYACTIV Engine

Tuesday, August 22nd, 2017

The most recent revelation from Mazda is that they have a new SKYACTIV engine to add to their repertoire.  The latest addition has been identified as the SKYACTIV-X, and it will be coming soon to Mazda vehicles in 2019.  CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your #1 Corona dealership, is excited about this latest development.  For some time now, Mazda has been hinting that it has made a significant breakthrough in the advancement of its SKYACTIV engines.

Mazda’s: The Future Is In Combustion Engines

The newest engine from Mazda is an internal combustion engine.  Typically, it works by sparking the fuel-air mixture with a compression ignition.  This proprietary SKYACTIV-X engine is unique because it reportedly has an extremely lean burn.  This means an increase in fuel economy, estimated to be 20 to 30 percent higher than Mazda’s current SKYACTIV-G engine. The engineers at Mazda are optimistic that this will have a positive impact on the overall efficiency of future Mazda vehicles outfitted with the SKYACTIV-X engine.

Mazda’s Blueprint For Looking Ahead To 2030

Additionally, Mazda announced news that it has created an ambitious agenda as it looks towards the future.  Mazda refers to this blueprint as “Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030.”   Obviously, the keyword here is sustainable.  What Mazda refers to here is the ability to tap into energy resources and keep them at a consistent level without depleting them.  We’re hearing that this means reducing the carbon dioxide emissions by at least 50 percent by the year 2030.

CardinaleWay Mazda Is Proud Of Mazda’s Accomplishments

Always known for being a leader among the auto industry, Mazda continues to deliver outstanding contributions as demonstrated by the latest SKYACTIV-X engine.  We’re extremely proud to be associated with an automaker who conscientiously cares about its consumers and the environment.  Come to CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona and check out our selection of the latest Mazda models, such as the 2017 Mazda6 sedan and the 2017 Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV.  It won’t be long before the 2018 Mazda models begin arriving.  Now is the time to make the best deals on outgoing 2017 Mazda models!

New $1.6 Billion Auto Manufacturing Plant Coming To The U.S.

Thursday, August 17th, 2017

In a surprising move that created a great deal of excitement in the business sector, Toyota and Mazda have announced that they’ve joined forces to build a new $1.6 billion auto manufacturing plant in the United States.  Now begins the war between the states vying for the prime location of the new plant.  CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your favorite Corona dealership, extends a hearty congratulations to Mazda and Toyota on their newly formed alliance.

New Toyota-Mazda Plant Will Mean More Jobs

Although we don’t yet know the exact location of the new auto manufacturing plant, it’s been revealed that it’s expected to create up to 4,000 new jobs.  This will definitely impact the U.S. economy in a positive way.  Mazda has never manufactured its cars in the U.S. before.  The new plant will produce up to 300,000 vehicles per year.  We’re told that it will primarily manufacture the Toyota Corolla sedan and a Mazda SUV crossover model for the North American market, yet to be determined.  The new plant should be completed by 2021, and Toyota and Mazda will split the cost of building the facility.

Toyota And Mazda To Share More Than Just A Manufacturing Plant

The two Japanese automakers, Toyota and Mazda, are coming together for more than just the joint operation of a new plant in the United States.  It appears that they will also collaborate on technology, such as for electric vehicles (EVs).  In addition, Toyota has purchased 5.05% of Mazda and in turn, Mazda purchased .25% of Toyota.  We certainly wish them well, and it’s encouraging to see competitive businesses work together.

We’re Proud To Be Associated With The Mazda Brand

Mazda is known for their talented engineering “think tank.”  Their vehicles are among the most innovative and reliable on the market.  They’re also affordably priced and fuel efficient.  Did you know that Mazda’s entire 2017 lineup has been awarded the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating?  This is an incredible accomplishment that no other auto manufacturer can match!  CardinaleWay Mazda Corona is proud to be associated with the Mazda brand.  Visit us and see our latest Mazda sports car models.  We’ve got something for everyone!

How You Can Prevent Your Vehicle From Hydroplaning

Wednesday, August 16th, 2017

Hydroplaning is a phenomenon that none of us wishes to experience in our lifetime.  For one, it’s scary and for another, it can cause a potentially deadly car accident.  Hydroplaning occurs when a vehicle hits a patch of water on the roadway and its tires are unable to scatter the water quick enough.  As a result, the vehicle may suddenly veer out of control and spin out.  However, you can be prepared with these tips from CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your favorite Corona dealership.

Follow These Tips To Avoid Hydroplaning

When it is raining, be mindful that the potential for hydroplaning is present.  Often, during the first ten minutes of a rainfall, the danger of hydroplaning is at its greatest.  That’s because the water is mixing with any grease or oil that may be on the pavement, making it slippery.  The longer it rains, the more the slippery residue is washed away.  Adhere to the following tips to help prevent hydroplaning:

  1. If your cruise control is on, turn it off.  Slow down and avoid the outer lanes where water accumulates faster.
  2. Allow plenty of room between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you.
  3. Avoid slamming on your brakes or making sudden stops.  Instead, slowly press on your brake pedal.
  4. Inspect your tires regularly for tread wear and make sure they are properly inflated.  Bring your vehicle to your auto dealership for tire maintenance such as tire rotation or replacement when necessary.
  5. If you do find yourself starting to hydroplane, don’t panic.  Avoid applying the brakes or accelerating, and steer in the direction that the vehicle is going.  Often, this will be enough to bring a vehicle safely out of a hydroplaning situation.

Our Service Department Is Second To None

If you need replacement tires or your tires rotated, bring your vehicle to our Service department at CardinaleWay Mazda Corona.  Our Service technicians are highly trained and have access to the latest state-of-the-art equipment.  We can do it all right here, from oil filter changes to a transmission tune up, let us take care of your vehicle.  We think you’ll agree that our Service department is second to none.  For all your automotive needs, come to CardinaleWay Mazda Corona.

Mazda Stakes Its Hopes For The Future In Its Skyactiv Engines

Tuesday, August 15th, 2017

Green Car Reports summarized an interview that was recently conducted with Robert Davis, Mazda’s North American senior vice president. His remarks were enlightening and CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your favorite Corona dealership, wants to share his insight with you. We think it will give our consumers a better idea of where Mazda is heading in the near future.

The Future Of Electric Vehicles (EVs)
We’ve all heard the hype about electric vehicles and how they’re going to save the world from emissions pollution. In his interview, Mazda’s Robert Davis has something to say about the future of electric vehicles. For one, he strongly believes that the demand for EVs won’t be as strong if the government takes away the federal tax credit. Right now, that tax credit is a generous $7,500. If the tax credit goes away, Davis thinks the market for EVs will also greatly diminish. We already know that there are still many logistical hurdles to clear for EVs to exist as the dominant vehicle. For instance, a great deal of infrastructure must take place and that could take years, if not decades. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Mazda plans to steer clear of manufacturing EVs. They are simply taking a more cautious approach. In announcing plans for Toyota and Mazda to build a new auto manufacturing plant in the U.S. by 2021, we’re told there are plans for Mazda to work in tandem with Toyota on the development of EVs.

Mazda To Unveil Combustion Engine Next Year
Robert Davis also states Mazda’s position that they’ll continue to invest in their lineup of Skyactiv engines. He also shrugs off the notion that gasoline and diesel engines will soon be a thing of the past. Next year, Mazda plans to unveil its latest Skyactiv engine, a combustion engine that they believe will be extremely fuel efficient. Mazda will continue to pour their money into research and development of their Skyactiv engines. Also interesting to note is that Mazda’s vehicles are among the cleanest in emissions testing.

CardinaleWay Mazda Offers Tips On How To Prevent Rodents From Chewing On Your Vehicle’s Wiring And Hoses

Wednesday, August 9th, 2017

Those pesky rodents, mice and squirrels like to chew on the weirdest things to sharpen their teeth.  You may be surprised to know that rodents are attracted to vehicle wiring and hoses.  This can create a host of problems for car owners, such as electrical problems.  CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your favorite Corona dealership, offers tips on how you can help prevent rodents from chewing on your vehicle’s wiring and hoses.

Practical Tips To Keep Away Rodents

You need to realize that it’s very easy for rodents to gain access to your vehicle.  Particularly appealing to rodents are vehicles that are parked in wooded areas or vehicles that are parked for prolonged periods of time.  Make sure that you don’t leave food items in your car as the smell of food may be too tempting for rodents to refuse. Look for signs of rodent infestation, such as shredded paper, leaves or other signs of nesting.  If you think that you might have a rodent problem, you can set traps or mothballs in or around your vehicle.  Mothballs can be poisonous to dogs and cats if ingested, so be sure to place mothballs where they can’t be reached by your pets.

Bring Your Vehicle To CardinaleWay Mazda For Service

If you suspect that rodents have chewed on your vehicle’s wiring or hoses, or if your Check Engine light comes on, bring your vehicle to CardinaleWay Mazda for service. Our Service technicians will be glad to check it out for you.  Our highly trained Service department can take care of all your auto needs, including a transmission tune up, tire rotation or oil filter change. While you’re here, feel free to browse our dealership lots.  We have an impressive selection of the latest Mazda models and Certified Preowned vehicles.  Check out our website at www.cardinalewaymazdacorona.com for  all your automotive needs.
