CardinaleWay Mazda Corona Suggests Cleaning Your Car’s Engine

Monday, September 11th, 2017

Add cleaning your vehicle’s engine to your list of auto maintenance.  It sounds like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be.  Cleaning under the hood is important to help keep your engine running cooler.  It’s also the perfect opportunity to check all your vehicle’s fluid levels and inspect hoses and belts. CardinaleWay Mazda Corona, your favorite Corona dealership, recommends cleaning your engine compartment at least once or twice a year.  That’s because debris and grime accumulates under the hood of your vehicle and can be detrimental to parts of your engine, battery and electrical wiring.  For instance, a buildup of grime can lead to corrosion which is  particularly harmful to your vehicle’s battery.

What You Need To Know About Cleaning Under The Hood

There are three very critical pieces of information you should know before you begin cleaning your vehicle’s engine compartment.  First, make sure the engine is cold.  Secondly, never use a hose or power washer to spray water under your hood.  Water can damage electrical wiring and components.  Lastly, refrain from using abrasive cleaning solvents which can also be harmful.

Steps To Take To Clean Your Vehicle’s Engine Compartment

Start by removing any loose debris that you see under the hood.  You can use a small broom or even a leaf blower to remove the debris.  Next, use soft cloths or microfiber towels moistened with a mild cleaning solution.  You can even use Dawn dishwashing detergent mixed with water.  Wipe down all the surfaces in the engine compartment.  Inspect the battery for signs of corrosion, removing the battery caps as well.  Use a wire brush or soft cloth to remove any corrosion.  Check all the fluid levels and inspect belts and hoses for any signs of cracks, leakage or slippage.  Also check the wiring and hoses for any signs of rodent tampering.  Tiny critters love to sharpen their teeth on tasty wiring.

The Impact of The New Toyota-Mazda Plant in the U.S.

Thursday, August 24th, 2017

On the heels of the surprise announcement that Toyota and Mazda plan to jointly build a $1.6 billion manufacturing plant in the United States, we’re delving deeper into the long-range implications.  Besides providing a shot in the arm to the U.S. economy and jobs growth, what’s in it for the two Japanese automakers?  Specifically, Mazda who is about 1/7th the size of giant auto manufacturer Toyota.  CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona, your #1 Corona Dealership, is optimistic that this marriage between strange bedfellows has the potential to produce great things for Mazda.

What Mazda Stands To Gain

While the strategic hunt for the location of the new Toyota-Mazda plant heats up, with at least a dozen states vying for bragging rights, let’s examine what could result from the alliance between the Japanese auto manufacturers.  First, there’s substantial job growth, with at least 4,000 jobs promised by the creation of the new plant.  Then, there’s the real possibility of shared technology between Toyota and Mazda.  This is an area where Mazda can definitely benefit with regards to electric vehicle (EV) development, as Toyota is ahead of the game.  Mazda, on the other hand, lags behind on EV development, due to their insistence that combustion engines hold promise for the future.  It makes sense that they will team up and design EVs of the future.

Both automakers bought a token of shares from each other to solidify their “marriage of convenience.”  On paper, it looks like the start of a beautiful collaboration.  While Toyota is expected to initially manufacturer Corollas, their smaller sedan, Mazda has indicated they’ll manufacturer a yet-unnamed crossover SUV at the new plant.  It remains to be seen if EVs may also be manufactured at the Toyota-Mazda facility in the long run, but anything’s possible.

2017 Mazda3 Is The #1 Ranked “Coolest Cars Of 2017”

Tuesday, June 6th, 2017

2017 Mazda3

Kelley Blue Book just ranked the 2017 Mazda3 as the #1 coolest car of 2017.  But wait, that’s not all… this makes the fourth consecutive year that the Mazda3 has landed in the #1 spot.  In the category of coolest cars under $18,000, with plenty of competition, our hats are off to Mazda for designing a vehicle that rates such accolades.  Mazda Dealers California congratulate the engineering team at Mazda for designing the top-rated 2017 Mazda3.

Mazda’s Winning Formula

The 2017 Mazda3 is available as either a sedan or a 5-door hatchback model.  Select either standard 6-speed manual or automatic transmission— either way it’s still got that Zoom-Zoom going for it.  Now equipped with the groundbreaking G-Vectoring Control, the 2017 edition features this subtle mechanism that provides easier handling.  For those interested in safety matters, you’ll be pleased to know that the 2017 Mazda3 earned a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS.  This was largely in part thanks to Mazda’s safety package, known as i-ACTIVSENSE.  Mazda’s winning formula that makes the 2017 Mazda3 Sport the #1 coolest car is that it’s fun to drive.  We’re happy to stand behind the Mazda brand.  We love to hear our customers report how much they enjoy the Mazda experience, whether as a driver or a passenger.

2017 Mazda3 On 10 Best Cars List

Wednesday, December 21st, 2016

Mazda3 2017 3

The Mazda3 is a remarkable model that has been making its appearance on noteworthy lists lately.  It edged out the Honda Civic for honors as the Best Car for Teen Drivers, and now it appears it will repeat its placement on the 10 Best Cars list.  Take note, that’s three years running as a popular best vehicle.  The Mazda3 resembles a typical Mazda sports car, but it offers more flexibility, an admirable trait.  For starters, there’s more cargo space, as the rear seats can fold down.  With Mazda3’s hatchback, it makes it easier for you to load and unload your packages or gear.  Not to mention, Fido can easily hop into the hatch!

Mazda doesn’t rest on its laurels, as it continues to improve its popular Mazda3. Notice that the Mazda3 hatchback model sports a different rear bumper which lends it a sportier feel.  An optional heated steering wheel is available, as are LED headlights, an electric parking brake and new upholstery options. Improvements have been made to significantly reduce the noise levels inside the vehicle.  Also new this year is a more responsive steering system, G-Vectoring Control.

Choose between a standard 6-speed manual transmission or an optional 6-speed automatic.  For those who crave a little extra excitement, the stick delivers!  The engine is a 2.0 liter, 4-cylinder on the 3-i models and 2.5 liter, inline-4 on 3-s models.

Safety is always a top concern, and Mazda offers i-Activsense.  This is a safety suite that is capable of reading road signs and can sense if you begin drifting out of your intended lane.  It’s only available as an option on the Mazda3.  However, it’s certainly well worth the additional investment, for such features as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring and forward collision warning.

Discover why the Mazda3 landed on the Best 10 list again.  Not only is it affordable, it’s a well-designed and reliable vehicle.  Hands down, the 2017 Mazda3 should be on your short list.  Stop in at #MazdaCorona, your friendly Corona dealership and let us assist you in your quest for a new vehicle or a certified pre-owned vehicle.
