2017 Mazda CX-3

You’re sure to love the 2017 Mazda CX-3, the compact version of Mazda’s fleet of crossover SUVs.  The great thing about the Mazda CX-3 is that it’s incredibly affordable, yet it can be customized with many of the same features you’d find in the larger CX-5 or CX-9 models.

Go Compact And Save Big

If you’re like most people, fuel efficiency is important.  Fuel economy for the 2017 Mazda CX-3 is estimated at 29 mpg city and 34 mpg highway for the standard edition, and 27 mpg city and 32 mpg for the AWD option. The 2017 Mazda CX-3 is available the base model, Touring and Grand Touring trims.  While six-speed automatic and front wheel drive are standard, there is an iACTIV all-wheel drive option.

2017 Mazda CX-5 Has 5-Star Rating For Safety

We think you’ll be pleased to know that the 2017 Mazda CX-3 is the recipient of the Top Safety Pick+ by the IIHS.  Not only that, but the NHTSA awarded it a 5-star rating.  For maximum safety, you can add on Mazda’s i-ACTIVSENSE safety package.  This package includes a smorgasbord of safety features such as adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam control and lane departure warning.  It’s worth the extra peace of mind.

Why You Should Take Your Vehicle To Your Dealership Instead Of A Repair Shop

Wednesday, May 31st, 2017

Dealership Instead Of A Repair Shop

CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona encourages you to bring your vehicle to us instead of the local repair shop.  Most people are under the mistaken assumption that the local garage may be cheaper.  You may be surprised to find that it is not always the case. Consider the following reasons for returning to your dealership for routine service and maintenance:

  1. It’s an undisputed fact that dealerships can afford to have the latest in state-of-the-art tools and equipment for diagnostic testing and service or repairs. This is an advantage for you since it means that your service or repair is likely to take less time, resulting in less labor costs. Smaller repair shops typically don’t have the resources that a dealership’s Service department does.

  1. Service technicians at dealerships have been highly trained and in most cases, are factory-certified. This means that their training or expertise involved the specific models offered by the dealership.  A local garage mechanic may see a wide variety of vehicles, without having the in-depth knowledge of specific models.

  1. The Service department at your dealership can help you keep a record of repairs, remind you when maintenance checkups are due, alert you when there are manufacturer recalls on your vehicle and can answer questions about your specific model. You’re unlikely to find this level of customer service at a local garage.

  1. Service departments at dealerships have access to the best OEM parts. Small local repair shops may not have access to OEM parts meant for specific models or will likely have to pay more to obtain them.

Next Time Your Vehicle Needs A Tune-Up, Bring It To Us

Be smart… the next time your vehicle needs service or repair, bring it to #CardinaleWayMazdaCorona.  Our Service technicians have had specialized training and you can be assured that your vehicle is in good hands.  While you’re here, we encourage you to test drive one of our latest Mazda sports car models.  From the 2017 Mazda CX-9 three-row family vehicle to the all-new Mazda MX-5 Miata Hardtop convertible, we’ve got a vehicle to fit every lifestyle and budget. Japanese Vintage Cars Featured In Third Annual Mazda-Sponsored Road Rally In Southern California

Tuesday, May 30th, 2017

Mazda-Sponsored Road Rally

The online magazine, Japanese Nostalgic Car, in partnership with Mazda, has announced the Third Annual “Touge” or road rally this summer in Southern California.  The road rally will feature Japanese vintage cars and Mazda will participate with  several of its vehicles from the Mazda Heritage Collection. “Touge” in Japanese means “Mountain Pass” and the road rally on July 15 will wind through Southern California’s mountainous roads, starting and ending in Irvine.

50th Anniversary Of Mazda’s Wankel Rotary Engine

A recent press release from Inside Mazda reveals that the road rally showcasing vintage Japanese vehicles will also feature Mazda’s first sports car, the Cosmo Sport 110S. This marks the 50th Anniversary of the sports car that was the first to introduce the Wankel rotary engine.  The Wankel rotary engine was the start of many technological advances by Mazda.  The Wankel rotary engines were quite popular, and globally, Mazda sold more than one million cars equipped with the rotary engine.  Although none of the models in Mazda’s current lineup feature a rotary engine, it’s entirely within the realm of possibility that Mazda may be working on future designs to feature a rotary engine again.

CardinaleWay Mazda Corona Explains Why You Should Avoid Buying Used Tires For Your Vehicle

Wednesday, May 24th, 2017

buying tires

We all love a good bargain, but when it comes to some things like tires for your vehicle, CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona suggests you should always buy new tires.  New tires can help to keep your family safe while traveling in your vehicle.  You should avoid secondhand or used tire stores and we’ll explain why.

Don’t Cave To A “Bargain” When It Comes To Buying Used Tires

Sure, you can save money buying used tires, but shouldn’t your family’s safety be your first concern?  Used tire outfitters typically obtain their stock from larger chain tire retailers.  These retailers are willing to part with older tires because there is a fee to remove and safely dispose of rubber tires.  If these are older tires that were replaced, the tread is likely already showing signs of wear.  A brand new tire will last longer than a used tire.  Also,  beware of dry rot in tires that have been sitting in one spot for a lengthy period of time.  Inspect a tire carefully for dry rot.  If the color of the tire is grayish and not black, or if you notice tiny cracks on the sidewalls or the tread, that’s dry rot.  Tires with dry rot are extremely dangerous because they are unpredictable and can blow out.

Know The Age Of Your Vehicle’s Tires

Most consumers don’t consider the age of their vehicle’s tires.  This is true not only of the four tires that are on your vehicle, but the spare tire is commonly overlooked.  You should know that the older a tire is, the more the rubber compounds break down and deteriorate.  It’s dangerous to drive on old tires. Take a look at the tire identification number located on a tire.  Find the last four digits which indicate the week and year a tire was made.  How old it too old?  Generally, any tire older than five years should be inspected by your Service technician.

We Have A Great Selection Of Tires At CardinaleWay Mazda Corona

Next time you need new tires, come to CardinaleWay Mazda Corona.  We have a huge selection of new tires to fit your vehicle.  Our professional Service technicians will be glad to mount the tires, rotate if you’re only getting two tires and balance your wheels.  In the market for a new vehicle?  Visit us and take a look at the latest Mazda sports car models, including the all-new 2017 Mazda MX-5 Hardtop #Miata RF or three-row family friendly 2017 Mazda CX-9.  For a complete listing of our inventory, see our website at www.CardinaleWayMazdaCorona.com.

Diesel-Powered 2018 Mazda CX-5 Stirs Up Excitement

Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017

2018 Mazda CX-5

Mazda is proceeding with their plans for a diesel engine for the 2018 Mazda CX-5.  Automotive News reports that Masahiro Moro, the President and CEO for Mazda North American Operations, indicated that Mazda hopes to sell units of the 2018 Mazda CX-5 with diesel engines representing 10% of all U.S. Mazda CX-5 sales.  This is a gutsy move by Mazda in consideration of the fact that other automakers are pulling back from entering the diesel market.

Initial Plans Call For Diesel Engine In Grand Touring Trim Only

Mazda indicates that the diesel version of the 2018 Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV will initially only be available in the Grand Touring Trim.  Then, Mazda will determine how well sales are trending after the launch of the diesel-powered model of the CX-5.  If enough excitement has been generated by the diesel option, Mazda may elect to expand the diesel engine into other models in its lineup.  The diesel version of the Mazda CX-5 has already been made available in foreign markets.

The Benefit Of Having A Diesel Option

Improved fuel efficiency is the primary benefit of having a diesel option.  Due to the popularity of the Mazda CX-5 crossover SUV, Mazda is likely projecting that a diesel-powered Mazda CX-5 will be well received by some consumers.  Now in its second generation, demand is high for the 2017 Mazda CX-5.  Mazda plans to outfit the 2018 Mazda CX-5 with a 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D diesel engine.  We’re told that that diesel engine is currently undergoing emissions testing by the EPA and is expected to pass.

CardinaleWay Mazda Corona Summer Maintenance Checklist

Wednesday, May 17th, 2017

Maintenance Checklist

Now that Summer is approaching, why not get a jump start on vehicle maintenance?  With every seasonal change, it’s prudent to bring your vehicle to CardinaleWay #MazdaCorona for a check-up.  You can either contact our Service department directly or make an appointment that’s convenient for you on our user-friendly website at www.CardinaleWayMazdaCorona.com.

Make Sure Your Vehicle Is Road Worthy For Summer Vacation

If you’re planning a Summer vacation, you’ll want to make sure your vehicle is road worthy.  Our highly trained Service professionals can help put your worries to rest.  We recommend performing the following maintenance check-up in addition to a routine oil filter change.

Don’t be caught unprepared when temperatures begin rising as Summer arrives. We know how quickly the interior of a vehicle can heat up. You need a fully functioning air-conditioner to keep your vehicle cool.  Let us check your air-conditioning system to make sure it is working properly.

It’s important to make sure your vehicle’s tire treads aren’t uneven or balding.  Your vehicle’s tires have constant contact with the road.  Perhaps a tire rotation is necessary, or if your vehicle does need new tires, we’ve got a wide selection of tires for you to choose from.

We highly recommend a radiator flush for your vehicle in preparation for  Summer.  It’s critical that your vehicle is equipped with plenty of fresh coolant to prevent your vehicle from overheating.

Fresh air in the vehicle’s cabin keeps everyone healthy.  To ensure you breathe fresh air during your vacation road trip, our Service technicians can replace your air filter if it needs a refreshing.

Are your vehicle’s brakes able to stop suddenly without skidding or squealing?  Don’t skip auto maintenance for your brakes, especially if you plan to do any mountain driving during your Summer vacation!

Our Service Department Is Second To None!

You’ll want to schedule an appointment with our Service department ahead of your Summer vacation plans.  You can either call our Service department directly or you can schedule an appointment online.  Visit our user-friendly website at www.CardinaleWayMazdaCorona.com.  Come see us and browse our lots for the latest Mazda sports car from the 2017 Mazda CX-5 to the 2017 Mazda3 Sport.  We want to be among the best Mazda Dealers Orange County has to offer.  Let us know how we can help better serve you!
