CardinaleWay Mazda Corona Offers Top Six Tips For Prolonging the Life Of Your Vehicle’s Battery

Wednesday, April 26th, 2017

Battery Maintenance

We’ve all been there at some point in our lifetime.  You go to start your vehicle and you discover that your car battery is dead.  You have a choice to either find someone to help you jumpstart your battery or call roadside assistance.  CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona has some helpful tips to prolong the life of your battery.  In the event that your battery does need replacing, CardinaleWay Mazda Corona has a great selection of batteries to fit your vehicle!

Vehicle Battery Maintenance 101

Many drivers fail to include their vehicle’s battery in their regular schedule of auto maintenance.  You might wish to consider these Top Six Tips for Prolonging the Life of Your Vehicle’s Battery:

#1:  Don’t Forget To Turn Off Your Vehicle’s Electrical Devices

Guess what is the most common culprit for draining a vehicle’s battery?  If you guess the driver forgot to turn off the vehicle’s headlights, give yourself a pat on the back.  Always remember to turn off all electrical devices when you reach your destination and place your vehicle in park. This doesn’t only include headlights, windshield wipers and interior lights — it also means  you should unplug any phone chargers or other similar devices.

#2:  Clean Your Vehicle’s Battery

Corrosion has a tendency to form on your vehicle’s battery.  However, you can prolong the life of your vehicle’s battery by simply cleaning the battery.  Take a soft cloth to wipe it down or use a wire brush to remove any corrosion on your vehicle’s battery, especially around the terminals.

#3:  The Hot Sun Is Bad Your Vehicle’s Battery

Leaving your vehicle parked in the hot sun for prolonged periods of time can have a draining effect on the vehicle’s battery.  Always look for a shady spot to park your vehicle or even better, park it in a garage.

#4:  Don’t Let Your Vehicle Sit Idle

Remember that adage “use it or lose it”?  Turns out, it applies to a vehicle’s battery, as well.  If you have a vehicle that you don’t use often, you should take it for a drive at least weekly to keep the battery charged.  Short trips simply don’t allow enough time for the alternator to recharge the vehicle’s battery.

#5:  Keep Battery Jumper Cables In Your Vehicle

You should have an emergency auto kit in your vehicle at all times.  Make sure this includes battery jumper cables.  They could come in handy if your vehicle’s battery flatlines or if you need to help someone else jumpstart their vehicle’s battery.  It never hurts to be prepared.

#6:  Schedule Your Auto For Regular Maintenance

Make regular service appointments and bring your vehicle to us at CardinaleWay Mazda Corona.  By regularly checking your vehicle, we can help you ensure that your vehicle’s battery continues to run for the maximum length of time.

We hope you’ll come to us at CardinaleWay Mazda Corona for all your auto maintenance needs.  Our Service technicians are highly trained and are always glad to answer any questions you may have about your vehicle.  #CardinaleWayMazdaCorona cares about keeping your vehicle running for many more miles.   Visit our website at www.CardinaleMazda.com for all your automotive needs.  We want to be among the best Mazda Dealers Orange County has to offer!  Check out our large selection of the latest Mazda sports car models and Certified Preowned vehicles.

New York Daily News Awards 2017 Mazda6 “Best Family Car”

Tuesday, April 25th, 2017

2017 Mazda6

For the second year in a row, the New York Daily News has awarded the Mazda6 sedan as the Best Family Car.  As reported by Inside Madza, this distinctive honor was bestowed by the editors of the New York Daily News.  If you’re in the market for a family vehicle, you might want to check out the 2017 Mazda6.

Best Family Car Award For 2017 Mazda6 Is Well-Deserved

Out of all the vehicles that the New York Daily News could have chosen for Best Family Car, it’s both humbling and exhilarating that the 2017 Mazda6 was the hands-down winner.  This is especially impressive given that crossover SUVs are currently trending among consumers as the most popular family vehicle.  However, there are some indications why a sedan might be preferable over an SUV.  Some reasons include better fuel economy, more headroom for taller drivers or passengers, improved visibility and better driving dynamics. Not to mention, in most cases, sedans are more affordable than an SUV.

Features Of The 2017 Mazda6 Sedan

This year’s 2017 model of the Mazda6 features G-Vectoring Control, to prevent oversteering and provide a safer ride. Fuel economy is better than most comparable mid-size vehicles, with estimated 26 mpg city and 35 mpg highway.  The i-Activsense safety package has many driver-assist features, and new this year is a rearview camera designed to detect pedestrians and a traffic sign recognition system.  The Grand Touring trim now offers a choice of black or almond Nappa leather seating with contrast stitching.  You’ll also notice that the cabin has undergone some improvements, including noise suppression, a 7-inch color touchscreen with the Mazda Connect infotainment system.  However, quite possibly the best reason for choosing the 2017 Mazda6 as your family’s vehicle is Mazda’s commitment to safety. Consumers should take note that the Mazda6 has been awarded the Top Safety Pick Plus by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for the fourth consecutive year!

Why not stop by CardinaleWay #MazdaCorona and test drive a 2017 Mazda6 today?  Let our friendly Sales team demonstrate the outstanding features of the Mazda6 sedan and answer any questions you may have.  Feel free to browse our large inventory of the latest Mazda sports car models, including the Mazda3 Sport and Mazda MX-5 hardtop Miata convertible.  We also have a great selection of #CertifiedPreowned vehicles!  If you don’t see it here, ask our Sales team to locate it for you!  No matter what your budget is, our Finance department can help you obtain affordable financing.  See our website at www.CardinaleWayMazdaCorona.com for a complete listing of our inventory.

Does The Future Hold A Mazda CX-5 With Three Rows To Seat Seven?

Thursday, April 20th, 2017

3 Row Mazda CX-5

This just in, we’re excited to report that Mazda is designing a future Mazda CX-5 with three rows to seat up to seven.  The latest revelations come from both Motoring and the carbuzz blog.  The Mazda CX-5 has proven to be one of the most popular cross SUVs, and it is currently the top-selling vehicle for the Mazda brand.  Mazda is working hard to unveil the seven-seater Mazda CX-5 at the Los Angeles car show in December 2017.  Smaller auto manufacturer Mazda is poised to give its bigger competitors Toyota and Honda a run for their money.

Imagine A Three-Row Mazda CX-5

We’re excited to see this newly designed Mazda CX-5 with three-row seating.  Our imaginations are working overtime with anticipation of what it will look like and what its competitive pricing might be.  Will Mazda have an edge over its competitors due to the fact that there aren’t many in its mid-size SUV class that have three rows of seating?  We’re hopeful this could position Mazda to dominate the market in the mid-size SUV class.  How will it affect sales of the larger three-row Mazda CX-9?  It seems logical that a Mazda CX-5 that can seat seven will be priced lower than the already bigger, three-row Mazda CX-9.  So many questions.  Stay tuned until the unveiling in December 2017!

Come see us at CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona and browse our large selection of the latest Mazda models and Certified Preowned vehicles.  We’re confident you’ll find a vehicle to fit your lifestyle and budget.  Our friendly and knowledgeable Sales team is available to assist you.  Visit our website at www.CardinaleWayMazdaCorona.com for quick online pre-approval.  We make it convenient to do business with us!

Bring Your Vehicle To CardinaleWay Mazda For A Wheel Alignment

Wednesday, April 19th, 2017

Wheel Alignment

Although you won’t necessarily see a wheel alignment listed in your Owner Manual for recommended auto maintenance, CardinaleWay Mazda in Corona encourages you to bring your vehicle to us for a wheel alignment.  This is necessary any time you feel your vehicle may be out of alignment, whenever your tires are rotated, and even when you buy new tires.  If your vehicle is out of alignment, it may cause excessive wear and tear on your tires.  To prolong the life of your tires, you’ll want to be sure that your vehicle’s wheels are properly aligned.  Alignment specifications may vary from vehicle to vehicle, so it’s important to take your vehicle to a dealership who knows the requirements of a wheel alignment for your specific model.

Recognize The Signs That Your Vehicle Needs A Wheel Alignment

One test to determine if your vehicle needs a wheel alignment is to let go of the steering wheel for just a moment while the vehicle is moving.  If your vehicle begin to pull to one side or the other instead of going straight, it’s time to make a service appointment.  You may also want to inspect your tires.  If there is uneven wearing, it may be due to your vehicle’s wheels being out of alignment.  Hitting the curb or a pothole or driving over rough roads may cause your vehicle’s wheels to go out of alignment.  It can happen to anyone, but the important thing is to take care of it before it takes its toll on your tires.

Get Square With A Wheel Alignment

When you bring your vehicle to us for a wheel alignment, our Service technician will first perform an inspection of your tires to check for uneven wear.  If a wheel alignment is called for, either just the front wheels will be aligned or all four wheels will be aligned, depending on your vehicle.  The Service technician will make sure that the vehicle’s wheels and axles are square so that they move in a straight line.  A special alignment machine takes measurements to properly align the wheels.  Then the camber, caster, toe and thrust will be set properly and the steering wheel will be centered. When your vehicle is aligned properly, you’ll enjoy a much smoother ride!

CardinaleWay Mazda Corona takes pride in our Service department, featuring highly trained Service technicians.  Our goal is to help you keep your vehicle running for many more miles.  Stop by today and browse our dealership lot for the latest Mazda sports car models like the 2017 Mazda MX-5 hardtop Miata convertible, 2017 Mazda CX-5 or any of our Certified Preowned vehicles.  For all your automotive needs, visit our website at www.CardinaleWayMazdaCorona.com.

Top Five Older Generation Mazda Vehicles To Consider

Thursday, April 13th, 2017

If you don’t want to pay a higher price for the latest Mazda model, why not consider the alternative and check out these older Mazda models?  You’ll find a great selection of Certified Preowned vehicles at CardinaleWay Mazda Corona.  All of our Certified Preowned vehicles come with a warranty and have passed a series of stringent tests to be certified.  Consider taking a second look at some of the following popular Mazda models. Mazda continues to be a well-respected and popular brand, thanks in part to vehicle reliability and safety factors.

Mazda CX-5

Look for earlier models of the Mazda CX-5 from the years 2014, 2015 and 2016.  The 2017 models are just rolling onto dealership lots.  You may be able to find a low-mileage 2016 model for much less than what you would pay for a 2017 Mazda CX-5.  Did you know that last year the 2016 Mazda CX-5 was the top-selling Mazda vehicle?

Mazda MX-5 Miata

Since its debut in 1990, this roadster has been a widely popular convertible.  You can’t go wrong if this is your pick, because the Miata has been consistently praised for its reliability. The best part is that no matter which generation of Miata you choose, it’s sure to have the Mazda brand of Zoom-Zoom that will get your adrenaline pumping.

Mazda2 Sport

Another good deal would be the Mazda2 Sport model.  A subcompact vehicle, it’s lightweight and fun.  Go for the six-speed manual transmission for the ultimate thrill ride.  Note that the 2016 Mazda2 features a hatchback, which is great for hauling gear or your canine companion.

Mazda RX-8

A rotary vehicle, consider yourself lucky if you find a Mazda RX-8 on a dealership lot.  Be sure to give it a test drive and you’ll soon discover how much fun can be served up by this rotary vehicle.  First introduced as a 2004 model, the Mazda RX-8 is a four-seater and features a 1.3-liter two-rotor engine.

Mazda RX-7

Another rotary vehicle, the Mazda RX-7 preceded the popular RX-8.  First introduced in 1978, the RX-7 spanned a long production run of 25 years.  Always popular for its unique rotary engine, the RX-7 was also known for its reliability factor.

Bring Your Vehicle To CardinaleWay Mazda Corona And Let Us Check Your Vehicle’s Belts And Hoses

Wednesday, April 12th, 2017

Wear and tear of your vehicle’s belts and hoses occur over time.  What most people fail to realize is that it’s important to regularly maintain your vehicle’s belts and hoses to keep your vehicle running smoothly.  At CardinaleWay Mazda Corona, we recommend that you bring your vehicle to us annually for a preventative maintenance check-up that includes checking for signs of wear and tear on timing belts, serpentine belts and hoses.

Why Your Vehicle’s Belts Are Important

Your vehicle’s timing belt drives the camshaft, which is critical because that is what keeps your engine running. Our Service technician will look for signs including worn teeth, fraying of the belt, or perhaps you may report that your engine backfires. The serpentine belts transfer power to different parts of the engine.  If the serpentine belts break, this can possibly cause damage to your engine.  That’s why our Service technicians will thoroughly check your vehicle’s serpentine belt for any signs of cracking or slippage.

The Low-Down On Hoses

Our Service technician will also check your vehicle’s hoses, specifically looking for any wear and tear, cracks or leaks.  If there is significant wear and tear, our Service technician will repair or replace the hose(s) as necessary.  If you adhere to a regular maintenance schedule for your vehicle, you can be confident that your vehicle will continue running smoothly.  Our Service department is here to help you prolong the life of your vehicle!

At CardinaleWay #MazdaCorona, we pride ourselves on our unwavering commitment to our valued customers and their vehicles.  We encourage you to bring your vehicle to us for all your auto maintenance and service needs. Stop by anytime and browse our impressive selection of new and Certified Preowned vehicles.  From the latest Mazda sports car like the hardtop Miata to the family-friendly three-row Mazda CX-9, we’ve got a vehicle to fit every lifestyle and budget.  See our website at www.MazdaWayMazdaCorona.co for all your automotive needs.
