The name Mazda MX-5 Raceway seemed more appropriate for the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca racetrack this past weekend after hosting hundreds of race cars this weekend, most of them being Mazda MX-5 models. This past weekend, hundreds of Mazda MX-5 Miatas were spotted on and off the track. Liam Dwyer and teammate, Andrew Carbonell, took home their fifth consecutive victory in the ST category of the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge in their MX-5 racecar. Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) found a new way to showcase their fans to the all-new MX-5 Miata. This time its through its final contest in Forza Horizon 2. The automaker designed a photo sharing contest that will run from May 1^st through May 26^th 2015 and encourages drivers to capture their best image of the 2016 MX-5 or the 1994 MX-5 Miata in the game. “Throughout the launch of the all-new MX-5, we have developed new and innovative ways to involve the MX-5 enthusiasts,” said Russell Wager, vice president of Marketing, MNAO. “In real life, many enthusiasts will buy their car and then begin photographing it throughout their ownership. They are proud of their car and want to show others the modifications they have made and where they have been. The photo contest allows gamers to show their MX-5s off in a very similar manner throughout Forza Horizon 2.” One lucky winner of the Xbox One will receive a grand prize of a new home theater system and a $200 Xbox gift card while one lucky, grand prize winner of the Xbox 360 contest will win an Xbox One and a $200 Xbox gift card.
