Kelley Blue Book writes: “The 2021 Mazda CX-30 isn’t just another crossover. It doesn’t fit neatly into any pre-existing size categories. It packs a decent amount of power and has a chassis that’s perfectly suited to exploit that muscle. Like every other Mazda, there’s an aesthetic sensibility that’s rare in anything below the typical luxury level. A certain sophistication permeates everything the 2021 CX-30 does and has.”
Inside, the driver and passengers will appreciate the CX-30’s ample passenger space. The comfortable seats allow everyone to sit back and stay comfortable, even on long drives. There’s plenty of room for cargo, too, with 20.2 cubic feet of cargo space with the seats in use and 45.2 cubic feet of space with the rear seats folded down.
The base CX-30 gets plenty of standard features, including cloth seats, LED headlights, an 8.8-inch infotainment display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice recognition, Bluetooth, an eight-speaker stereo system, HD radio, two USB ports and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Options include a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror, a wireless device charger, a universal garage door opener, LED interior lighting, sport pedals and navigation.
Standard driver-assist features include low-speed automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, driver attention monitoring, lane departure warning, pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, rain-sensing wipers and a rearview camera.
A vehicle’s safety scores are important to buyers looking for a new family vehicle. The 2021 Mazda CX-30 hasn’t been tested by the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety at this time, but the 2020 model received the best rating of Good in all crash tests, and the organization named it one of its Top Safety Picks. The 2021 CX-30 should earn the same scores. The National Highway Traffic Safety Association gave the 2021 Mazda CX-30 an overall safety rating of five out of five stars.
